So, Supernatural Sex Pollen Weekend was fun but not as productive as I hoped, due to being struck down by a bitch of a headache on Sunday. So I'm going to extend it to Supernatural Sex Pollen Week. Because I haven't flogged this dead horse finished having fun with the concept.
In other news, a friend dropped by with their dog (a border collie, so not a particularly small dog) and bought into the back garden. My boy cat happened to be outside and despite having the nickname Wussy Pussy for being a damn wimp, he stomped straight over the dog and started wailing on it. He had to be dragged away from it. It was pretty damn insane. I mean, I feel bad for the dog (who was completely fine, just a little shell-shocked for a few minutes) but at the same time my cat's a fucking panther!

Okay, so in celebration of playing with a new fandom and actually writing something for a change, I am officially making this weekend, in this Journal at least, Supernatural Sex Pollen Weekend.

Thank you so much for all the awesome cliché suggestions, you guys are incredible, as always. Unfortunately, after reading through them all I then ended up getting sucked into writing a genderswap fic that's over 12000 words with the end still nowhere in sight, so that idea may have backfired. So I'm thinking I might take a break from it, try and write a couple of sex pollen ficlets instead. Because sex pollen is always fun.
But first I feel the urge to watch every single clip in this post. I've been in a particularly happy musical kind of place since watching Glee. Which I'm already in love with. Actually, I saw the trailer for it a few months ago but didn't know anything else about it and genuinely thought it was a movie, so I was pretty caught off-guard to find out it's a tv show. But, whatever, they had me at Journey.

Happy Pancake Day! (What's left of it, anyway.)
I'm a really bad cook. (There's a point to this, I swear.) I'm a really bad cook, and horribly clumsy, and I have no coordination. I'm a walking disaster in the kitchen. And I only cook pancakes a couple of times a year, if that. In fact, I think it's actually been something like two years since I last tried.
And yet, no matter how long it's been, no matter how incapable I am at putting one foot in front of the other most of the time, sit me in front of a cooker with a jug of batter mix and some oil and I will flip every single one of those damn pancakes absolutely perfectly.
Okay, so I'm not going to get an invitation to a magical school, or a crew full of awesome pirate nakama, or a keyblade for my One True Skill. But it makes me happy nonetheless. I'm not the only one out there with some weirdly useless talent that I'm stupidly proud of, am I?
Anyway, sorry for the angstyness of that last Zoro/Sanji fic. I wrote it after first reading the end of Thriller Bark, filed the draft away as being crap, and only just got round to rewriting it. I'm going to be posting some older fic, since I'm still not writing much. And I'm still working on masterlists. This whole entry is kind of pointless - I just miss you all.

I'm trying to be vaguely productive and make this Journal a little easier to navigate by posting fic masterlists, complete with lovingly made banners that look as though somebody's thrown up on MSPaint and awkward sorting systems. Since I currently have over 450 fics and drabbles to claw through, this could take a while, so sorry in advance. I'm also going to be experimenting with the format for each list, so any feedback on how easy they are to navigate would be appreciated.

11:39 pm - Because Everyone Needs To Know My TV Watching Habits...
Sorry I haven't been around much this year so far. One of my resolutions was to try watching new tv shows, rather than just vegging in front of repeats of the same old stuff, so I've just marathoned the first two seasons of Ugly Betty and now I'm working my way through Supernatural (yes, I'd never seen either, I am somewhat behind the times). For the record, as good as Ugly Betty is, I resent it being marketed as a quirky, light-hearted comedy when pretty much every damn episode made me cry. Also, I learned very quickly not to watch Supernatural at night with all the lights out and a storm raging outside (I'm lame, it's creepy, feel free to mock me).

Wishing everyone an awesomely awesome 2009 full of awesome!
I think I may be abusing the sparkly text. I'm practically expecting a restraining order at this point.
I don't usually do resolutions, but I'm going to be trying some specific writing ones this year. Slamming them up here to serve as a constant reminder when I inevitably fail.
Each month I want to try to do one of the following -
♥ Write for a shiny new fandom
♥ Write for a fandom I haven't touched in donkeys
♥ Write a character and/or pairing I've never written before
The basic idea is just to shake things up a bit, to step outside my comfort zone. The Tangerine Tits AU is already doing just that, since it's trying very hard to turn itself into a series. I'm thinking Gin's story is going to be a trilogy of fics that focus on Gin/failure, and then I want to go backwards and look at how the Straw Hats ended up there, all that stuff. Because God forbid I do something in order and make things easy for myself. But I've been scribbling down notes, and there's a timeline and everything, and it may be kind of terrible and all, but it's got me excited about writing again. So yay!
I'm also, for the time being, going to have my monthly round-up posts only every other month, so I don't put any unneeded pressure on myself while I shake off my writer's block.
So, anyone else made any resolutions? I'm tempted to try and give up Diet Cherry Coke, but at this point I pretty much run on the stuff, a la Franky.

Can I ask a quick and random question of the Americans on my Flist? Is there something ... significant about the 16th of May? We're planning our holiday next year with that date set for departure, and for some reason all the flights out there are far more expensive on that Saturday than any other. Just wondering if anyone might have any idea why? It's not connected to this mythical Spring Break I keep hearing so much about or anything like that, is it?
In other news, PopCap is the most evil website in the world and it's entirely their fault I haven't done any writing over the past few days.

MERRY CHRISTMAS!
Glad tidings and gingerbread men to all!
Since it was Chopper's birthday yesterday, I thought I'd celebrate by watching the ninth One Piece movie, which an AU retelling of the Drum Island arc where Robin and Franky are already part of the crew. And since it's the season of giving, I'm spamming you guys about it and eating your bandwidth. Aren't I just so damn generous? ♥

Also, since I've not written any Christmas fic this year, I will subtly point to last year's December round-up and mutter excuses about the fact that I wrote so much festive fic last time that it should carry me through for the next decade.
